George and I are just back from our honeymoon in Rarotonga, and we have just had our first normal weekend in almost two years. I suppose that's the best way I can think of to help myself understand that we have finally actually completed this project. Everything else - the rings on my finger, the photos, the Facebook comments, the way everyone and everything looked so amazing - it was all something I had visualised so powerfully that it's only the things that aren't part of the wedding picture that can really bring it home - we did it, it was awesome, and now, it's time to write about it.
I plan to use this blog to help me capture and summarise how we went from two people who wanted a themed wedding, to two people who achieved something that completely amazes me.
Before I get started on the individual projects, though, I need to acknowledge all the people who helped us get there. There were a great many people who helped with their support, their knowledge, their company, and even just the occasional friendly message or Facebook comment. I can't possibly capture them all here, but here are at least some of them (in an excerpt from our wedding programme):
